About Bucks Adlerian Training

Bucks Adlerian Training is a Community Interest Company that has been providing counselling training for over 25 years. It is an organisational member of the Adlerian Society UK and Institute for Individual Psychology (ASIIP), with which its courses are accredited.

BAT offers a 450-hour training programme in Adlerian Counselling Theory, Skills and Practice, delivered over three years. Each year consists of 150 hours of teaching across 10 weekends, combining in-person sessions near Buckingham with online learning. Training is predominantly experiential, with small tutorial groups and a high level of individual tutor support.

Jill Reynolds

Jill Reynolds

Role: Tutor & Administrator · Buckingham

Jill qualified with a Diploma in Adlerian Counselling in 1999 and became an ASIIP trained supervisor and accredited Adlerian counsellor in 2007. She completed a two-year apprenticeship under the guidance of Lilian Beattie in Aylesbury before taking on the role of year tutor — a role she has held ever since.

She holds an Open University degree in Psychology and post-graduate adult education teaching qualifications, and maintains a private counselling and supervision practice in Buckingham. Jill is an ASIIP Council member, sits on the ASIIP Training Committee, and is a Trustee of the Adlerian Sanctuary Trust and a member of the organising committee of the Adlerian Summer School.

Bruce Greenhalgh

Bruce Greenhalgh

Role: Tutor · Bicester

Bruce was introduced to Adlerian psychology in 1995 as a student on the same training course he now tutors. He has had a long career in organisational wellbeing, most recently as Global Wellbeing Lead at BT and Council Director for the Executive Wellbeing Council at the Conference Board.

He holds an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Adlerian Counselling and Supervision, and is an accredited therapist with BACP and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Bruce has a particular passion for Mindfulness, which he teaches and practises across a range of settings — including counsellor training, summer schools, retreats, and community groups. He trained to teach Mindfulness on the Masters Programme at Bangor University and is certified by the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, developed at Google.

Janina Bell

Janina Bell

Role: Tutor · Milton Keynes

Janina is an Adlerian counsellor, supervisor and trainer based in Milton Keynes, with around ten years’ involvement in certificate and diploma level Adlerian counselling training. She holds a Diploma in Counselling and a Diploma in Supervision, both from the Institute for Individual Psychology.

Her therapeutic work spans a wide range of presenting issues, with particular interests in family dynamics, parenting, and early memory work. She facilitates creative and experiential workshops — including family constellation and early recollection work — drawing on Adlerian theory in practice.
